Frontend Software Engineer III at TextUs

Jeff Golden has a long history of working in the tech and media industries. In 2008, they began their career as an Education Reporter for the Farmington Daily Times, a local newspaper in New Mexico. During their time there, they initiated and implemented a weekly podcast series and provided content for new social media pages. In 2010, they moved on to Claims Bureau USA, where they were a Home Visits Manager, responsible for editing investigative reports and creating invoices for customer billing. In 2012, they became a Communications Assistant for Jeffco Parks and Open Space, where they led the development and execution of communications strategy to grow social media accounts, submit grant and award applications, hone e-mail marketing tactics, produce effective copy, revamp Web content, design engaging presentations and write press releases. In 2013, they were hired as a Digital Marketing Specialist for The Colorado Mountain Club, where they were later promoted to Marketing Manager. During their time there, they grew the social media following exponentially and launched an Instagram account and Snapchat geofilters. In 2018, they moved on to Fire & Flavor as the Social Media and Community Director, where they increased annual e-commerce sales from $53,500 in 2017 to $270,000 in 2018. In 2019, they became the Publisher of The Colorado Mountain Club, where they sourced new authors and ideas, brokered contracts, managed projects, proofread manuscripts, garnered print quotes, tracked inventory, organized author speaking events, and spearheaded digital and traditional marketing campaigns. Finally, in 2021, they joined TextUs as a Frontend Software Engineer, where they use React, TypeScript, vanilla JavaScript, Redux and Material-UI to enhance several TextUs product offerings.

Jeff Golden obtained their B.A. in English: Professional Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington between 2004 and 2008. Jeff obtained their College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program from North Mecklenburg High School between 2000 and 2004. In 2021, they completed a Computer Software Engineering program at the Flatiron School. Jeff also obtained two additional certifications from Codecademy in April 2021, the Learn Redux Course and the Learn Responsive Design Course.
