John Brittan

Vice President, Geophysics

John Brittan is an experienced professional in geophysics and technology development, currently serving as the Vice President of Geophysics at TGS since July 2024. Previously, John spent nearly two decades at PGS, where roles included Vice President of Research & Development and Chief Geophysicist, overseeing a comprehensive R&D portfolio and guiding strategic direction for the Data Processing & Technology business unit. Additionally, John held key positions at ION Geophysical, including Vice President of Strategic Technology Development and Vice President of Europe & Africa for Imaging Services. John's leadership in the field extended to serving as Chair of the Oil and Gas Division for the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers from 2015 to 2017. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Geophysics and Seismology from Imperial College London and a BSc in Physics from the University of Birmingham.
