Sam Slaton is an experienced educator and cycling advocate, currently serving as an English Faculty and Cycle Education Specialist at Thaden School since June 2018. Sam develops and teaches curricula for Grade 10 English, Bike Advocacy, and Urban Studies, while guiding students in socioemotional and executive functioning skills. Notable achievements include launching the world’s first high school gravel cycling team and securing Gold-level Bicycle Friendly Business status for Thaden School. Previous roles include Managing Director at Trailblazers, Director of Communications at Bike New York, Deputy Reviews Editor at Publishers Weekly, and Editor-in-Chief at The Brooklyn Review. Sam holds an MFA in Poetry from Brooklyn College and a B.A. in Creative Writing and Philosophy from the University of Arkansas.
