Paul Thackray

Paul Thackray is an experienced consulting engineer specializing in the hydropower industry, focusing on medium and large hydraulic turbines, pumps, valves, gates, penstocks, and ancillary power station equipment. Since September 2007, Paul has operated as an independent consulting engineer, following a tenure as Principal Hydromechanical Engineer at Parsons Brinckerhoff from 1996 to 2007, where involvement in major hydropower projects spanned multiple regions including the UK, Indonesia, Africa, and Australia. Prior experience includes roles as a Hydraulic Design Engineer at Kvaerner Boving UK and as a Design Engineer for pumps at Ingersoll Rand. Paul holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Design and Manufacture from the University of Hull and an M.Sc. in Materials Engineering from Northumbria University.
