Born from the resilience, leadership, and lived experience of former England rugby international Luther Burrell, The 12 Foundation is on a mission to empower young people aged 12 to 18 from underserved communities with the structure, belief, and sense of belonging they need to thrive, both on and off the field.

Led by Luther himself, the foundation marries his personal journey, with its highs, lows, and defining moments, to a broader vision of impact. It’s about more than rugby: it’s about helping young people discover their own inner strength, make confident life choices, and stand firm in adversity.

By delivering mentorship, structured activities, and empowering experiences, The 12 Foundation creates environments where young people can grow, belong, and flourish. In Luther’s words, “It’s about people, purpose, and making sure every human we meet walks away a little more inspired.”

The foundation’s name, “12” reflects Luther’s rugby jersey number and the idea of teamwork, collective strength, and transformation. It represents every young person’s potential to rise, supported by structure, belief, and community.

Through workshops, programmes, and partnerships, the 12 Foundation is building more than skills, it is building futures.
