Hamish MacDonald

Hamish Macdonald is an experienced journalist and academic currently serving as an Expert Associate at the National Security College of The Australian National University since January 2025. Macdonald has worked with Paramount as a journalist since September 2017, with a brief hiatus between January 2020 and August 2021. Additionally, Macdonald has been a Broadcast Journalist at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) since October 2016 and served on the Walkley Judging Board from 2019 until February 2024. Previous experience includes a role as a Foreign Correspondent with ABC News from January 2013 to May 2015. Macdonald holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Charles Sturt University and completed the Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University from August 2015 to May 2016.
