Laura Gartry is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in journalism and digital media. As Innovation Lead at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation since June 2014, Laura has spearheaded major digital innovation projects to enhance ABC News' position in public interest journalism. Previous roles include Digital Producer for Four Corners, Digital Journalist and Producer, and Broadcast Journalist, where Laura focused on delivering impactful content across various platforms. Currently, Laura is a PhD candidate at RMIT University, researching news recommendation systems, and has participated in the Journalist Fellowship Programme at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Laura's background includes a Bachelor of Arts from The Australian National University, a Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting from WAAPA, and a recent Fellowship in Journalism from the University of Oxford.
