Stephen Oliver

Stephen Oliver is a prominent figure in the Australian broadcasting industry, currently serving as the Manager of Documentaries at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) since June 2019. In this role, Stephen leads a team within the Factual and Culture department and has been instrumental in creating impactful programs such as LOVE ON THE SPECTRUM and WAR ON WASTE. Previously, Stephen worked as a Commissioning Editor at ABC, where notable projects included the award-winning WAR ON WASTE series. With a background as a writer, director, and series producer, Stephen has earned recognition for various projects across multiple networks, including SBS TV and international broadcasters, winning awards such as best documentary and nominations for prestigious accolades. Stephen holds a BA Hons in Anthropology from Durham University, completed in 1995.
