Tasha James serves as the ABC Archives Indigenous Collections & Community Access Manager at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation since June 2021, while also holding the position of Director on the Regional Arts NSW Board since April 2022. With prior experience as the Manager of Indigenous Connections at the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia from November 2016 to June 2021, Tasha also worked at the Australian Museum as a Project Officer, contributing to community-based programs and exhibition development from November 2014 to October 2016. Earlier roles include Program Manager at the Centre for Cultural Competence Australia and various positions at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, culminating in a senior project management role in the Native Title Research Unit. Tasha's career began at Dubbo City Council, where responsibilities included managing confidential files and obtaining a Certificate IV in Administrative Services and Financial Skills.
