The Accountability Archive (TAA) is the world’s largest public repository of statements that justify, deny, or incite violations of international humanitarian law (IHL). With over 80,000 entries and growing daily, TAA documents the discursive architecture of impunity, focusing primarily on Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen. The archive is crowdsourced, multilingual, and digitally preserved—designed to safeguard fragile digital evidence often at risk of deletion or erasure.

TAA enables researchers, journalists, legal experts, and human rights advocates to trace how war crimes are normalised through speech. With ESRC support, we are building a searchable, open-access interface and developing tools to analyse patterns of incitement, denial, and justification. The project sits at the intersection of digital archiving, critical discourse analysis, and legal accountability—transforming online speech into a resource for research, and justice.
