Michael Smith

Michael Smith is an accomplished architect and company director with extensive experience in the architecture and built environment sectors. Currently serving as an Architect and Company Director at Andever since December 2013, Michael also holds the position of Director at Spec Up and Consulting Architect at Built Environment Channel, both starting in 2023. Additionally, Michael contributes as a columnist for The Age and previously for Domain.com.au. In academia, Michael is involved as a Master of Architecture Thesis Supervisor at the University of Melbourne for a brief period in 2023. Michael has a background in leadership roles, having been a National Committee Member for the National Committee for Gender Equity at the Royal Australian Institute of Architects from 2014 to 2018, including a year as deputy chair and co-chair. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Construction Management from Deakin University, obtained between 2002 and 2007.
