Patrick Elligett

Patrick Elligett is an accomplished journalist and editor with extensive experience in leading editorial teams and managing news coverage. Currently serving as Editor and News Director at The Age since March 2020, Patrick previously held the position of World Editor at The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, overseeing foreign coverage and managing bureaus in multiple global locations. With a robust background in both print and digital journalism, Patrick has also held senior roles such as Editor in Chief at The New Daily, where audience growth was achieved, and has academic experience as a subject coordinator at La Trobe University. Additional editorial roles include Editor at Sunraysia Daily, The Guardian, and Rural Press, alongside earlier positions as Assistant Editor at ITP and journalist roles at Super Radio Network and 2MCE Radio. Patrick holds a Master's degree in Communications from La Trobe University.
