The Ampersand Foundation is a UK grant-awarding trust dedicated to supporting the visual arts. We support organisations across the UK through the following key programmes:

The Ampersand Foundation Award: A biennial award enabling a Plus Tate member organisation to realise a curator or director’s dream project.

Annual Grants: Support for visual art projects including exhibitions, artists' commissions, public collection care, public collection enhancement, and artist residencies.

Multi-year Grants: For initiatives that create a transformative impact on the organisations themselves, their public, and the towns they serve.

Wigwell Lodge Residencies: A creative retreat for artists, academics, and writers hosted at our Derbyshire property and run in partnership with UK visual art organisations.

All projects we support must offer free public access at least one day per week.
