The Andreas Foundation was established in March 2024 by Ryan K. Brown, Jr and Iman McDonnaugh-Brown, driven by their personal experience of loss. The tragic passing of their son, Andreas Darius Brown, in March 2023, left them grappling with grief and unanswered questions. Their journey through loss highlighted the lack of resources and support available to families affected by neonatal encephalopathy.

Motivated by their own struggles and determined to make a difference, Ryan and Iman founded The Andreas Foundation with a clear mission in mind. Drawing from their own experience, they formulated a mission centered on advancing knowledge, providing support, and fostering hope for families affected by neonatal encephalopathy.

Their vision was to ensure that no family would ever feel as alone as they did during their early grief. With a commitment to making a tangible difference, the foundation embarked on a journey to fill the gap in resources and support for families facing similar challenges.
