Benjamin Lerer

Benjamin Lerer is an experienced software engineer and team leader with a robust background in software development and project management. Since July 2015, Benjamin has been an Apache Cassandra PMC Member and Committer at The Apache Software Foundation, contributing to the development of Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise. Prior to this, Benjamin served as Team Lead/Tech Lead and Staff Software Engineer at DataStax from July 2014 to August 2024. Earlier experience includes leading a software development team at IMC financial markets & asset management and significant contributions to high-frequency trading platforms. With a strong foundation in software development demonstrated through various roles at companies including Opodo and Amadeus IT Group, Benjamin holds a Master of Science in Earth Observation Science from the University of Leicester and a Maîtrise in Physics from Université Côte d'Azur.
