Anand Gopakumar is the co-founder and CEO of The Apprentice Project (TAP), an education initiative under the Mentor Me foundation focused on empowering children to realize who they are and achieve what they want to be. They lead TAP's programs that develop 21st-century skills for students from low-income families in India, including digital literacy, social and emotional learning, and financial literacy. They are also the CEO and Director of Development & Communications at Mentor Me India, which connects professionals with children from low-income communities. Their past roles included a product manager position at MobME Wireless Private Limited (2012–2014) and a Teach For India fellowship (2015–2017). They were incubated as part of NSRCEL (2019–2020) and The/Nudge Institute (2021–2022) and were a Harvard Innovation Labs President's Innovation Challenge Grand Prize Winner (2020–2021).
