John Bird is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Big Issue, a position held since September 1991, and serves as Group Director of The Big Issue Group since 2005. In addition, John Bird has been a Crossbench Peer in the House of Lords since 2015 and founded The Chapter Catcher in 2019. Education includes a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from the University of the Arts London and a Bachelor's Degree in Human Anthropology from the University of West London.
