Australian consumers throw away 3.1 million tonnes of edible food each year, while 3.6 million Australians don't have enough food to eat.

We're proud to be able to serve over 500 hot, healthy and nutritious meals each week to our friends on the street, supported by countless numbers of kind and compassionate volunteers and corporate volunteers.

Located in Brunswick MG's kitchen, a 100sqm custom built commercial kitchen opened in the middle of the pandemic in 2021 in response to the huge rise in demand for our food relief services. 

TBU welcomes volunteers and corporate groups into the inclusive and dynamic environment each week to spend time helping others less fortunate. 

Guided by trained Chefs, the group produce hundreds of restaurant quality meals bound for the Fed Square pop up restaurant and free grocery shop. 

TBU has extended its service to respond to emergencies since the 2019 bushfires dispatching an away team food truck and food boxes to areas hit by natural disasters such as the storms in the Dandenong in 2021 and the Lismore floods of March 2022.

TBU is brimming with love and care for people experiencing food insecurity. TBU creates a safe and inclusive space where people can come together in community to share, grow and support each other.
