Welcome to The Book Group. We are a full-service literary agency founded in 2015 by longtime friends and publishing industry veterans Julie Barer, Faye Bender, Brettne Bloom, and Elisabeth Weed. Since then we have expanded our agency to include agents Brenda Bowen, Jamie Carr, Sara Shandler, Sophie Cudd, and Caitlin O’Shaughnessy, as well as editorial assistants Brooke Nagler, Nora Mathews and Adi Vildorf, and office manager Erin Rice.

We are passionately committed to fostering the careers of writers from a diverse range of backgrounds, perspectives and experiences, and we represent books for readers of all ages.

Please head to our website to explore our upcoming and recently published titles, where you’ll discover award-winning novelists and illustrators, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists, thrillers, fantasy, horror, young adult classics, inspiring memoirs, sumptuous cookbooks, and gorgeous picture books. Then peruse our book club favorites, bestsellers, and television & film based on our authors’ books.

Thank you for visiting us, and happy reading.
