The Brave Behinds is a no-shame support squad for women affected by anal cancer.

Created by women with lived experience, we are here for those who are newly diagnosed, going through treatment, recovering after chemoradiation, living with side effects, adapting to life with a stoma, navigating scans and follow-ups, or trying to rebuild confidence, relationships and a sense of self after treatment.
Anal cancer can be lonely, frightening and incredibly hard to talk about. Not only because of the treatment, side effects, pain, fatigue, bowel changes, sexual health worries, body confidence wobbles and fear of recurrence, but because the word itself can make people freeze.
Too awkward. Too intimate. Too much information.
So women stay quiet. They minimise. They make jokes. They carry it privately. They try to get back to “normal” when everything may have changed.
The Brave Behinds exists to change that.

We are building a kinder, braver, more honest squad where women affected by #AnalCancer can talk openly, feel less alone and find support from people who understand.
