Jacob Schatz

Jacob Schatz is an experienced founder and engineering leader, currently building 1Medium, a project management and scheduling platform, since October 2023. In addition to this role, Jacob serves as an advisor at The Code Registry starting from June 2024. From June 2021 to October 2023, Jacob held the position of Head of Automation at Remote, where backend solutions were architected utilizing Elixir, with a focus on AI-driven initiatives. Prior to Remote, Jacob was the Platform Engineering Director at MURAL between July 2019 and June 2021, overseeing API and platform services during a significant company scale-up. Jacob's early achievements include founding the Meltano project at GitLab, Inc. from December 2015 to May 2019, transforming it into an open-source ELT platform while also serving as a Product Engineering Manager. Jacob's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, Piano from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, earned between January 2002 and January 2006.
