Heidi Stout

Heidi Stout has a long history of working in the orthopaedic field. Heidi started in 1980 as the Coding and Reimbursement Manager for University Orthopaedic Associates. In 2003, they founded their own consulting business, Coder on Call, Inc., and became its President. In this role, they educate physicians and their office staffs on coding and billing compliance, provides advice on managed care contract negotiations, designs billing and documentation tools, and performs documentation audits. In 2005, they became the Director of Orthopaedic Coding Division for The Coding Network, LLC. Finally, in 2008, they became a Member of Orthopaedic Steering Committee for the American Academy of Professional Coders.

Heidi Stout obtained a B.A. in Business Administration from University College, Rutgers University between 1982 and 1989. Heidi then continued their studies at Rutgers University without obtaining a degree. Heidi also holds certifications from AAPC and AHIMA, including Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Orthopaedic Surgery Coder (COSC), and Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P).
