Thomas Forth has a diverse work experience history. Thomas is currently the co-founder and CTO of The Data City, a role they have held since May 2018. Prior to that, they were the Head of Data at Open Innovations from November 2014. Thomas also has experience as a founder of imactivate in 2013. Thomas worked as a freelancer in mobile app development from February 2010 to February 2011, focusing on Nokia development and self-learning advanced Javascript, HTML, CSS, and Symbian APIs. Earlier in their career, Thomas worked as a farmer, fruit-picking manager, and shop assistant at The Balloon Tree from January 2003 to August 2005. Thomas was an English teacher at Hanoi University of Communications and Transport from August 2002 to December 2002, and they also had a summer internship at Phosyn (Yara) in July 2002.
Thomas Forth obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Malaria systems biology from the University of Leeds from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed an MSci degree in Physics with a year in Europe at Imperial College London from 2003 to 2007. During their studies, they also spent a year at Université Paris-Saclay from 2005 to 2006, pursuing a Masters Year in Biophysics. Thomas Forth later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the Systems Biology of Malaria at the University of Leeds from 2009 to 2013.
