DSG is a digital services consultancy focused on helping public-sector organizations design, assess, and improve customer-facing digital services using human-centered design, data-informed decision-making, and modern delivery practices. Our work is rooted in the same principles advanced by the original United States Digital Service (USDS) and 18F: start with real user needs, test assumptions early, design for accessibility and equity, and partner closely with government teams to build durable internal capability rather than one-off solutions.

DSG supports state and local agencies undertaking complex digital modernization efforts where legacy systems, regulatory constraints, and diverse user populations intersect. We specialize in early-stage discovery and UX strategy work that reduces downstream risk by clarifying user needs, defining clear service goals, and aligning content, information architecture, and accessibility requirements before design and development begin. Our teams bring practical experience conducting user research, facilitating cross-functional workshops, developing content strategies, and validating proposed solutions through usability testing with diverse and often underserved populations.

Consistent with the original USDS and 18F delivery models, DSG works as an embedded partner to agency staff and existing technology vendors. We prioritize transparency, shared ownership, and knowledge transfer, ensuring that agency teams are equipped to sustain and evolve the work after our engagement concludes. Our approach emphasizes compliance with federal and state accessibility standards, alignment with enterprise platforms and governance, and measurable improvements to the public’s experience interacting with government services.
