The Discovery
Patrick Turner is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with extensive experience in the nonprofit and advertising sectors. Currently serving as the Chief Advancement Officer at The Discovery since May 2011, Patrick leads efforts to enhance the museum's brand, oversees marketing and communication strategies, and drives fundraising initiatives. Prior roles include Publisher at HERITAGE Magazine and various positions at R&R Partners, where Patrick developed creative campaigns for notable clients. With a strong academic background in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno, Patrick also contributed to education as a Letter of Appointment Instructor, teaching visual communication and media graphics.

Since opening to the public in 2011, The Discovery has solidified its place in our region as the home for informal science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) learning. Through hands-on galleries and exhibitions, and a robust array of educational programs, The Discovery connects learners of all ages with opportunities to explore a wide variety of ever-changing topics, all designed to inspire curiosity and further investigation.
