The Eden is a historic boutique hotel in Santa Monica where timeless coastal glamour meets modern, thoughtful hospitality. Originally built in 1939 in the Streamline Moderne style, the property has been carefully restored to honor its architectural heritage while embracing a fresh, wellness-forward vision of travel.

Our 70 guestrooms offer an experience designed to feel both elevated and effortless. Organic cotton linens, marble bathrooms, deep soaking tubs, and carefully selected amenities create a calm retreat just steps from the Pacific.

At The Eden, we believe hospitality should be both beautiful and responsible. Our operations are guided by a commitment to wellness, sustainability, and preserving the character of historic spaces. From eco-conscious practices to thoughtfully designed guest experiences, we aim to create a stay that feels intentional, restorative, and distinctly local.

The hotel is also home to several vibrant gathering spaces. Coffee Manufactory at The Eden offers farmers-market-inspired coffee and breakfast in the lobby café, while Velvet Rose, our open-air rooftop lounge, captures the spirit of Old Hollywood with ocean views, curated vinyl music, and cocktails inspired by iconic women of the 1930s and 1940s.

Beyond the guest experience, The Eden serves as a hub for community, culture, and creativity in Santa Monica. Through live music, intimate events, and thoughtfully curated programming, we aim to create moments that bring people together and celebrate the spirit of the California coast.

As a member of Historic Hotels of America and Preferred Hotels & Resorts, The Eden is proud to offer a boutique experience that blends history, design, and genuine hospitality.
