The Engine Room is building a new civic home for culture, craft and community life in Southport. Based within the historic Wayfarers Arcade, we bring together music, performance, heritage, learning and creative enterprise through a growing programme of events and initiatives.

From Southport Sessions and live performance to heritage projects, co-working and cultural partnerships, our aim is to create the conditions for culture, skills, relationships and opportunities to flourish.

Part of The Arcade Project, our work explores how culture can contribute to place-making, heritage regeneration and community renewal.
