Leland Cheung

Fellow at The Engine

Leland Cheung is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public service and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as a Fellow at The Engine since February 2018, Leland has also been a City Councillor for the City of Cambridge since January 2010, leading initiatives in job creation, environmental policy, and community services. Leland previously contributed to Youth Cities as a Board Member to teach entrepreneurship skills and served on the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Board to enhance career opportunities through investment in technology and education. Experience includes a summer fellowship at the U.S. Department of Energy focusing on clean technology, a senior associate role at Masthead Venture Partners specializing in early-stage investments, and serving as Chief Information Officer at Space Adventures. Leland holds an MPA in International Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from MIT Sloan School of Management, and advanced degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, as well as a dual BS in Physics and Economics from Stanford University.
