The ESE Academy is the professional home for Equipment Systems Engineers (ESEs).
We are an industry-led consortium bringing together industry, academia, and professional bodies to define, develop, and sustain Equipment Systems Engineering as a recognised engineering occupation.
We develop engineers into high-impact practitioners capable of delivering integrated solutions in modern, highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Why ESE exists
As Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 systems increase in complexity, a clear gap has emerged between business intent and the ability to deliver integrated engineering solutions in practice.
This has created the need for engineers who can work across systems, align technical implementation with operational requirements, and deliver solutions ready for deployment.
ESE has emerged to address this gap as a distinct engineering occupation.

What makes us different
The Academy operates at the intersection of industry, academia, and professional practice, bridging theory and implementation.
We apply a structured, practice-based approach where engineers:
	· develop solutions in a controlled, repeatable way
	· share and peer-review work
	· apply and refine solutions in real environments
This creates a system where engineering capability is continuously developed, demonstrated, and scaled.

What we do
	· Mentor engineers through structured programmes (including the MEng in ESE at UL)
	· Support peer-reviewed outputs (papers, frameworks, demonstrators)
	· Build capability through real-world work
	· Engage with universities, employers, and professional bodies

Why this matters
Engineering capability must be built and proven in practice.
The ESE Academy provides an environment where engineers:
	· apply and validate capability
	· contribute to shared knowledge
	· progress through a structured pathway

Follow The ESE Academy to stay connected to practitioner-led innovation and the evolution of Equipment Systems Engineering as a discipline
