The Funplex
Michael Baumann is an experienced General Manager currently overseeing operations at The Funplex since December 2020, where Michael was instrumental in transforming the amusement park from concept to completion and hired the entire Front Line and Management team. Prior to this role, Michael served on the Games and Merchandise Committee for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) from March 2018 to December 2021, contributing to the development of programs for the IAAPA yearly convention. Michael's tenure at Universal Studios Hollywood included positions as Retail Operations Manager for KwikeMart and the Production Central and The Pets Store, as well as managing Carnival Games and Vending, during which Michael significantly increased sales and profit margins. Early career experiences include managing retail and games at Luna Park in Coney Island, demonstrating a strong track record in staff leadership and budget management. Michael is currently pursuing a degree in Liberal Studies and Tourism Development, Hospitality Administration/Management at Arizona State University.
