Jess Li

Director of Equity, Belonging and Culture at The Future Project

Jess Li has a long and varied work experience. Jess began their career in 2008 as a Publicity Intern and Department Intern for the Asian Pacific Islander American Searchlight Directory. Jess then moved to the Asian American Association's Film Festival, where they held the position of Director and Publicity Intern. In 2010, they worked as a Research Assistant for the Asian American Center for Disparities Research and as an Asian Pacific Islander Community Coordinator for the Cross-Cultural Center, University of California, Davis. In 2011, they were a Student Teacher for the San Francisco Unified School District and a Program Leader for the Aptos Teen Center. In 2012, they were a Teacher for Pin@y Educational Partnerships and an Educational Advisor for JCYC. In 2013, they were a Pathways Program Coordinator and a Youth Development and Employment Specialist for Enterprise for Youth. Finally, from 2015 to present, they have held the positions of Director of Equity, Belonging and Culture, Research and Development Dream Director, Director of Education and Curriculum, and Dream Director for The Future Project.

Jess Li obtained a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis in 2011, majoring in Human Development, Family Studies, and Related Services, and Asian American Studies. Jess then went on to obtain a Master's degree from San Francisco State University in 2014, majoring in Asian American Studies from the College of Ethnic Studies.
