GEANCO saves and transforms lives in Africa. We conduct complex surgical missions and run an innovative program to fight anemia in Nigeria. Through our system of modern, solar-powered rural maternal clinics, we help poor, vulnerable pregnant women safely deliver healthy babies.

In addition to donating laptops, tablets, books, medicine and sports facilities to schools, our David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls provides full tuition, healthcare, and social & psychological support to young female survivors of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria.

We proudly count among our supporters Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Benedict Cumberbatch, Charlize Theron, David Oyelowo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Chris Rock, Zoe Saldana, Rachel Brosnahan, Jimmy Kimmel, Thandiwe Newton, Tyrese, Andrew Garfield, Jeff Daniels, Daisy Ridley, Forest Whitaker, Yvonne Orji, Uzo Aduba, Cynthia Erivo, Bryan Cranston, Steven Soderbergh, The Oscars, Disney, CAA, Fox Studios, Janus Funds, Capital Group Companies, Google and Netflix.

Afam Onyema graduated cum laude from Harvard University and Stanford Law School and declined several lucrative corporate law offers to lead GEANCO full-time. In 2020, he was named one of the Top Ten Most Influential Africans in the Diaspora.
