Jon MacDonald

President, Founder at The Good

Jon MacDonald began working in 2000 as the Founder and Interactive Director of JonnyMac Interactive, where they conducted business operations while directing designers and programmers on large-scale projects including web applications, Flash design and development, database development and video production. Jon then became an Interactive Development Lead at Attingo Communications in 2003. In 2005, Jon started working for GP Strategies Corporation (formerly Via Training) as an Interactive Developer before joining XPLANE in 2006 as their Interactive Development Manager. During this time, their duties included defining process, new business, scoping, estimating, project management, architecture, design and development of interactive projects and applications. Then in 2009, Jon became the President and Founder of The Good, where they helped brands understand the clicks and movements of their website visitors and use that data to convert more existing visitors into buyers. In addition to their role at The Good, Jon also became a Program Advisory Committee Member at The Art Institute of Portland in 2009.

Jon MacDonald has an extensive educational background. Jon has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Visual Arts (Concentration in New Media) from Oberlin College, which they obtained in 2003. In 2015, they earned their Optimizely Developer Certification and Optimizely Platform Certification from the same institution. In 2021, they acquired an EO with Harvard: Inspiring Entrepreneurial Strategy from Harvard Business School Executive Education, and in 2022 they earned an EO@INSEAD: Leading a High-Performing Culture from INSEAD. Jon is currently enrolled in a five-year Entrepreneurial Masters Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is set to finish in 2023.
