HISTORY:
The Haight was built in 1890 as the Elgin Storage & Transfer Company, which housed the horses and carriages that carried the Elgin watch factory workers to and from work prior to the automobile being invented.

From 1926 on, the building housed numerous companies including the Elgin Saddelry and Milk Company, Cable Piano Company, and in 1940, Ludwig Dairy. In 1985, the building was purchased by John Haight, who took to restoring the building while keeping in much of the original woodwork and details. The rest is history.
