The Ivey’s Hotel is the result of an extensive, multi-million dollar renovation, which carefully preserved the work of famed architect William H. Peeps who originally designed the Historic Ivey’s building, which debuted in 1924 as the home of J.B. Ivey & Company Department Store. Charlotte was originally built at the crossroads of two Native American trading paths – Trade & Tryon.
