Founded in 1990 as a listserv for the linguistic community with 60 subscribers, LINGUIST List now has over 26,000 subscribers on the mailing list and more than 120,000 followers on social media. More than 15,000 individual visitors use the website every day.  We are dedicated to providing information on languages, language resources, language and linguistic analysis, speech and language technology, computational linguistics and NLP.  We provide the discipline of linguistics with the infrastructure necessary to function in the digital world. LINGUIST is a free resource, run by linguistics professors and graduate students, and supported primarily by the donations of the international linguistics community.
