The Metamorphosis Project (TMP) is an Open Access platform and creative collective based in Western
Australia that fosters ideas and creative experimentation at the intersection of art, research and society. We
exist to inspire public discourse about the role of the arts, humanities and transdisciplinary research and
practice in shaping pathways for social transformation. We do this through our publications, events and
exhibitions.

Founded in 2015 in Ireland, TMP led a major collaboration between artists, researchers, and Industry, asking how these fields could work together to 1) experiment with modes of community engagement and artistic & research impact; 2) translate research outcomes from the academy to broader society; and 3) promote interdisciplinary and multisectoral collaboration. Now living, working and creating between Walyalup and Boorloo in Western Australia, we launched our flagship publication, The Metamorphosis Project Journal (TMPJ), in November 2024 (awarded WAAPA research grant).

The Metamorphosis Project Journal (TMPJ) [ISSN 2982-2459] is an annual, peer-reviewed and Open Access transdisciplinary journal produced and published by The Metamorphosis Project. Each issue of TMPJ is curated around a thought-provoking theme that invites submissions from a diverse range of practitioners and researchers working between and beyond disciplines and artistic forms. Submissions can be text based or visual (accompanied by an exegesis) and we warmly welcome proposals from international contributors. TMPJ is governed by a distinguished and passionate Editorial Board (EB), chaired by the Editor-in-Chief.
