Helping PhD Students Finish Their Dissertations with Confidence

At The Momentum Canvas™, we help overwhelmed PhD students turn their dissertations from a source of stress into a structured, achievable journey.

Too many doctoral candidates feel stuck and isolated during the dissertation phase—research shows that 35–50% never finish. Our mission is to change that.

Developed by Dr. Erin Sorensen, The Momentum Canvas™ is a visual planning system rooted in psychological research from Harvard Business Review’s Progress Principle. It transforms invisible mental work into visible progress—helping students stay motivated and make consistent, measurable strides toward completion.
