Women's health, education, dignity, and empowerment. Breaking the stigma. Beginning in Ghana. The OAM Project is a global women's initiative for menstrual health, education, dignity, and empowerment.
We were built on a friendship across continents. In 2021, Katherine "Kate" Noel connected with Anne Ethel Komlaga on LinkedIn. Anne was already leading meaningful menstrual health and education work in Ghana through Quantum Ideas Ghana. Kate asked a question that became a project: what could happen if many people gave a little, once a month?
Over the past four years, that question has helped reach 500+ students through Anne's annual May program in Ghana. Now we are building OAM into something bigger. One dollar at a time.
What we believe Menstruation is women's health, not shame. Half the work is making sure girls have the supplies they need. The other half is breaking the silence and stigma around periods so girls can move through womanhood without apology.
What we do Provide menstrual pads, dignity kits, and health education to girls and young women. Partner with local leaders who already know what their communities need. Build slowly, transparently, and in real relationship with the girls we serve.
The ask is simple. Give $1. That sends a pack of pads in Ghana. Share once. That tells another girl she belongs in the room.
May 28 is World Menstrual Hygiene Day. Join us.
Transparency The OAM Project is not yet a registered 501(c)(3). Donations are not currently tax-deductible. Funds are managed personally by the co-founders and directed to Anne's menstrual health and education work in Ghana. We are working toward formal nonprofit registration and will share updates as that progresses.
