Founded in 2008 The Olive Tree Market is Newcastle’s Leading Contemporary Art & Design Market featuring over 130 stalls each month.

The Olive Tree Market was launched to provide Newcastle’s contemporary artists and designers with an arena to showcase their work at supportive, vibrant, culturally diverse event. Our ethos is all about community, and supporting creators of handmade, maker and ethically created goods.

The Olive Tree Market is a major community event, and has grown a strong reputation as being one of Newcastle’s most unique and unmissable offerings.

Olive Tree provides visitors to the market with the unique opportunity to meet local artisans, view high quality goods, and collect, source, and commission one-off works. We are proud that our customer base has grown with us over the last decade, and are passionate about supporting and buying local, and being informed, conscious consumers.

The Olive Tree Market is more than a market, it’s a meeting place, a vibrant space with a festival atmosphere, a place to meet with friends to feast on delicious street food and discover the best of live independent music.

Importantly Olive Tree continues to be committed to providing a place where artists can interact with their contemporaries, and the wider public, sell their work without large overheads, and come together as a creative community.
