- Founded by Maya and Lara Hammoud, The Perception Foundation is dedicated to creating a world where individuals with neurodiversity—especially those in underserved communities—can access safe, sensory-friendly spaces and inclusive opportunities to thrive. We build environments and programs that empower people of all ages to learn, grow, and embrace their unique abilities. Guided by our duck-rabbit logo, we believe there is no one way to see the world—and our mission is to create a new normal where every perspective is valued, and inclusion is the standard.

Our Services:

- Custom Sensory Room Design
We build personalized sensory rooms in schools, libraries, and public spaces. These environments are tailored with calming features and adaptive tools that support emotional regulation and create safe, inclusive spaces for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.

- Sensory-Friendly Events
We organize inclusive community events such as sensory-adapted art classes, ice cream socials, and back-to-school fairs. These events reduce overstimulation and create welcoming experiences where individuals of all abilities can participate comfortably.

- Sensory Kit Distribution
We distribute portable sensory kits to classrooms, libraries, and public facilities. Each kit includes tools like fidgets, noise-reducing headphones, sensory books, and emotion cards—bringing immediate sensory support into everyday environments.

- Advocacy, Education & Youth Leadership
We advocate for accessibility at the local and national level by speaking at conferences, working with schools and policymakers, and educating the public about neurodiversity. We also support youth through programs like Perception Clubs and the Girl Scout Perception Partnerships, empowering young leaders to drive change in their communities
