Daniel Lightfoot has a diverse background in sports surface technology and business management, beginning as a Lecturer in Sports Surface Technology at Merrist Wood College from 2003 to 2005. Daniel then served as Golf Course Manager at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club Limited from June 2005 to December 2014, before moving into the corporate sector with Syngenta, where roles included UK and Ireland Business Manager and various leadership positions in Western Europe and Europe North West SPS from January 2015 to December 2021. Currently, Daniel is the Director of Sustainable Golf at The R&A, starting in January 2024. In addition to professional experience, Daniel holds a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice from the Chartered Management Institute and an MBA with Distinction from the University of East Anglia.
