Stephen Porter

Stephen Porter currently serves as the Reading Heroes Coordinator and Coordinator of Volunteers at The Reader UK, a position held since September 2019, after a distinguished career in education spanning over three decades. Prior roles include Head of English, Film and Media at MAGHULL HIGH SCHOOL from 2014 to 2019, and at The Academy of St. Francis of Assisi from 2005 to 2014, where Stephen also held the title of Area Leader in English. Previously, Stephen improved educational outcomes as Head of English and Media at Our Lady's Catholic High School from 1998 to 2005 and held various teaching roles at Wallasey School, Woodchurch High School, FRED LONGWORTH HIGH SCHOOL, and Hartshead High School. Stephen's academic qualifications include a PGCE from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Arts in Screenwriting from Liverpool John Moores University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Liverpool.
