We design the journeys dreams are made of: bespoke experiences that reflect your tastes, pace, and passions.

At The Real Thing, we are your dedicated partner for exceptional travel in Spain and Portugal. Every trip we create is a refined blend of cultural depth, insider access, and thoughtful detail, crafted with sophistication and a deep respect for local heritage.

Founded and led by Marta Muñoz Recarte and Glòria Pou, The Real Thing is proudly women-owned. After distinguished careers in the art world, Marta and Glòria turned their love for travel into a boutique DMC in 2013, curating immersive experiences for discerning travelers.

Our itineraries go beyond the expected. From historic landmarks and vibrant art scenes to world-class cuisine and intimate encounters with local traditions, we open doors to authentic moments, always with elegance, exclusivity, and substance.

Based in Madrid and Barcelona, we champion a high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable approach to travel. Every experience is hand-picked, every detail carefully considered, so that you can simply enjoy the very best of the Iberian Peninsula.
