The Red Barn, aptly named because we started in the adorable little red barn, opened in 2012 with just a horse, a barn, and a dream inspired by the vision of Anita Cowart to teach low-income children with disabilities to ride horses.

What started as a tiny family-run operation with one student quickly blossomed into a full-blown nonprofit, serving 100 kids a week with over 100 children on the waiting list.

Through the generosity of donors, low-income children with disabilities are able to come to the barn each week to ride horses, just like Mrs. Cowart envisioned all those years ago. How happy Mrs. Cowart would be if she could see us all now!
