We are a Platinum-rated nonprofit and global center dedicated to one specific group: displaced single mothers and female-headed households, including refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs). That's our only focus. Not refugees broadly. Not "vulnerable populations." This demographic specifically.

We record consent-based oral histories and turn their lived experience into research, policy analysis, education, and public programming that improves the systems meant to serve them.

Our work is organized through Story-to-Action Labs, country portfolios co-run with grassroots partners and local leaders. Each Lab brings together oral histories, education, and research under one core model, adapted to local law, culture, language, geography, and available services. Every country has a focused portfolio and accountable local relationships.

What we do
🎙 Oral histories and ethical archiving — Consent-based, trauma-informed testimonies collected through trusted community partners across Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
📚 Education and training — Fellowships, internships, and short courses building local documentation and analysis skills, with real published work and named bylines.
🗺 Global FHH Policy Tracker — A student-led, country-by-country tracker built with university partners. What protections exist on paper? What can displaced single mothers actually access? Where are the gaps, and what reforms are realistic?
📢 Public convening and publishing — The Archive Speaks™ and Across the Archives™ podcasts, The Refugee Archive Roundtable™, webinars, and our journal State of the World for Female-Headed Households™.
