The Science Synapse at Pitt is a student-run organization established to address the issue of lack of accessibility to research. 

Current science research is being posted behind paywalls and using vernacular only understandable to other experts in the field. This privatization of knowledge is a large and ever-growing problem in our country. 

To combat this, the students at The Science Synapse are determined to use their knowledge and skills to translate this important research into language and formats accessible to the people it is actually affecting. Through this ongoing newsletter, we will break down relevant medical topics, inform on recent findings, and educate on the science behind common ideas.
