The Shakespeare Hospice is a charity which provides free specialist care and support to people affected by a life limiting illness. We can help from the moment of diagnosis, extending support to family and carers where appropriate.

Our care is personalised to the needs of individuals. We enable people to receive high quality hospice care while continuing to live in the comfort of their own home and their local community.

Our 3 core services are Day Hospice, Hospice at Home and Family Support. These services provide a range of nursing care, therapies, psychological and social support.

Our Family Support Service was extended in 2013 to include Young People's Services. These services will give care and support to young people with life limiting illness, support young carers, provide bereavement support to young people and offer work experience opportunities.

It costs The Shakespeare Hospice approximately £2 million a year to provide these valuable services. Less than 8% of our income comes from the NHS, so every penny really does matter.

The Healthcare and Support team at The Shakespeare Hospice provides comprehensive care and emotional support to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families. This multidisciplinary team, which includes roles such as the Lead Practitioner for Children and Family Support, an Occupational Therapist, and various team leaders in hospice services, ensures personalized care plans are developed and executed across Day Hospice, Hospice at Home, and Family Support services. They offer nursing care, therapeutic interventions, and psychological support, maintaining the highest quality of life for patients in both home and community settings.
