At The Sherborne, our mission is simple yet powerful: to preserve The Sherborne’s rich heritage while championing new cultural experiences that connect, challenge, and inspire.

Guided by the founding vision of the late Michael Cannon, carried forward with dedication by Sally Cannon, The Sherborne aspires to be a cultural beacon for the South West.

Our vision is of a place where:
History is kept alive, not as something static, but as a living dialogue with the present.
Creativity thrives—through exhibitions, performances, and events that push boundaries and invite fresh thinking.
Community flourishes, with The Sherborne serving as a gathering place where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, and be inspired.

As a registered charity, this vision depends on collective support. Every ticket purchased, every donation made, and every coffee or glass raised at Macready’s restaurant goes directly back into our work—safeguarding Sherborne’s heritage while nurturing tomorrow’s culture.

Join us and be part of a vibrant cultural future—help us bring heritage and creativity to life for all.
