David Sonderman has worked in the creative industry for over 28 years. David began their career in 1991 as a Writer & Editor at The Ohio State University. In 1993, they joined Resource as a Copywriter & Senior Copywriter, where they created copy for clients in technology, fashion, finance and lifestyle. In 2001, they moved to GSW Advertising as an Executive Creative Director / EVP, where they led the agency's creative efforts and was responsible for all client brands. In 2016, they presented creative thought leadership at the Cannes Lions Festival. In 2018, they joined The Shipyard as Chief Creative Officer, living and working with data geeks, storytellers and artists to create award-winning campaigns for In-N-Out, Mars, BrewDog, NCR, Bollé, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Protective Insurance, Thrivent Financial, CAS, Sweet Loren's, Visit California, VSP, Serengeti, Pure Spectrum, San Diego Gas & Electric, Co-Op Financial, American Electric Power, WonderBus Music & Arts Festival, OSU Medical Center, and Weleda.

David Sonderman attended Ohio University from 1985 to 1987, where they studied Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs. David then transferred to The Ohio State University, where they earned a B.A. in Journalism / Public Relations from 1987 to 1990.
